Liverpool Acoustic is delighted to share that local songwriter Danny Bradley has reached the Grand Final of the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Contest (JLSC) — one of only a handful of finalists worldwide, and the only finalist representing the UK.
Danny’s song, which many in Liverpool will remember as the Judge’s Award winner of the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge 2021, has been selected from tens of thousands of entries submitted from across the globe.
Founded in the 1990s by Yoko Ono Lennon, the JLSC remains one of the world’s most respected international competitions for original songwriting.
Danny now needs the support of the public to help him secure the contest’s top honour — the $20,000 Song Of The Year award.

A Liverpool songwriter on the world stage
Danny has been a familiar and much?loved presence at Liverpool Acoustic events for more than a decade, including regular appearances at our annual Beatles Anniversary concerts. His songwriting blends emotional clarity with finely crafted storytelling — qualities that have clearly resonated with the JLSC’s international judging panel. Danny has also supported Fairport Convention and Richard Thompson on national tours.
A win for Danny would be a proud moment not just for him, but for Liverpool’s wider songwriting community.
Liverpool Acoustic encourages everyone to vote daily throughout April and help bring the Song Of The Year award home to Liverpool.
