Named after the Oasis track found on their first album Definitely Maybe, Columbia are Scouse visionaries detemined to revive the spirit of British Rock. Formed in 2017, Columbia bring their mid 90s inspired sound back home with their current single Somewhere I Belong.
Acoustic guitars dominate on this reflective mid-paced anthem, recorded at 3rd Planet Studios last year. With echoes of Oasis and The Verve, the track builds towards a satisfying conclusion. A strong distinctive vocal by Alex Sheppo hits the spot and there’s enough rawness in their sound to indicate the band to be a major live attraction. Music fans who lament the glory days of Brit Pop and Indie Rock will welcome the band’s back to basics sound.
Columbia will be touring the UK in May through event organisers This Feeling. The single Somewhere I Belong is available on all digital platforms.
