Amy Scott-Samuel (from the group She’s In The Trees) releases a brand new solo single Show Us Your Colours, which is from her upcoming debut album Go Gently. Amy has been working with musician and producer Bill Ryder-Jones (formerly of The Coral) and the full fruits of the collaboration will be coming out next year.
Released on Lucinda Records, the new song is a thoughtful lament on the changing dynamics of relationships. The line “Take off your mask” is asking the subject to reveal their true self without the fear of being judged. This is supported by the opening line “Don’t go changing” which reveals that love and acceptance is already there.
The effective use of electric guitar and vocal in the first verse is the perfect set up for the full accompaniment that follows, with the accordion adding a nice touch. The production from Bill Ryder-Jones is first rate with Amy holding her own with a wistful and spirited vocal performance. Show Us Your Colours serves as a strong taster for the upcoming album.
Amy Scott-Samuel is currently in the middle of a UK Tour and will be performing at Hobo Kiosk (Liverpool) for her single launch on Thursday 23rd July. Amy will also be performing at Future Yard in Birkenhead on Saturday 22nd August.
