Two places available for songwriting retreat with folk legend Jon Bowden

Calling all songwriters!

How would you like to spend five days on Scotland’s remote Knoydart peninsula on an exclusive, inspirational songwriting retreat?

Better still, how would you like to spend the time being mentored by none other than Jon Bowden, lead singer of the multi-award winning folk super group Bellowhead?

If this proposition floats your ferry from Mallaig to Knoydart then you might be interested to know that two places have just become available for the previously sold out 13th to 17th September retreat after two late withdrawals.

This five-day retreat is aimed at songwriters of a certain level and not towards beginners. Throughout the retreat Jon Bowden will share his experiences and approaches to his own songwriting and help you create the environment that will guide, encourage and challenge the writers to dig deeper into their writing abilities.

Seven Bonnie Gypsies – Jon Boden

Each attendee is offered the opportunity to have a one-to-one session with Jon to talk in depth about their own song writing, any creative struggles they may be experiencing and to receive advice and constructive critique. Those needing professional career advice will also be able to arrange a one-to-one with Duncan Lewis (Co-Founder of The Knoydart Retreat).

On the final night is the end of retreat concert in Inverie where the Writer in Residence and the attendees can perform their favourite songs that they have written during the week to a live audience.

All attendees stay together in a big, fully-catered house on the shores of Loch Nevis (meaning Heaven). Add to the mix great food, conversation, adventure, BBQ’s on the beach, guitars and whisky by the fire, new friendships, laughter, walking in the hills, star gazing, the chance to see the Northern Lights, spectacular sunrises and sunsets and rainbows like you’ve never seen… this really will be an inspirational week in the wilderness for all.

Full details of the Jon Bowden retreat (and the others in the calendar for the next 12 months) are available by visiting theknoydartretreat.com

You can book a place (or just express an interest) using the link on the website. IMPORTANT – if you tell them you saw it on Liverpool Acoustic they will give you an exclusive discount!
