24 Hour Songwriting Challenge opens 12pm this Saturday

24 hour songwriting challenge

Liverpool Acoustic are proud to announce the launch of the fourth Liverpool Acoustic 24 Hour Songwriting Challenge in association with Threshold Festival.

This year songwriters will have from 12pm on Saturday 3rd April 2021 until 12pm on Sunday 4th April to write a brand new song inspired by one of the new works submitted to the 24 Hour Art Challenge.

The art will be viewable in an online gallery which will be made publically available at 12pm when the 24 Hour Songwriting Challenge launches.

All of the Songwriting Challenge entries will be added to a playlist on the Liverpool Acoustic YouTube channel for eveyone to enjoy. Our judges will choose the Judges’ Award winner and the public will get a chance to vote for their favourite too.

Our judges this year are Kaya Herstad-Carney (Threshold Festival), Luke Moore (Operation Lightfoot), Dr Derek King (Liverpool Acoustic, Normandy branch!), and multiple challenge winner Alison Benson.

Last year Rachel Burnett won the Judges’ Award with her song Rain, inspired by the art of Nathan Pendelbury. Emily Callacher won the public vote with her song My Circus Mind, inspired by Threshold Festival visual artist Max da Silva Willis.
