Visions of Albion consists of Samantha Shields’ stunning vocals and Daniel Ryan’s vocals and guitar. Alone they would be good but together they become greater than the sum of their parts.

Although Sam and Daniel have been together for 8 years, it took them 6 years to form a band then a further 2 years to release this, their first single.

But they’ve have not been idle since they formed as a duo. In fact you may have heard them being played on local BBC radio or seen one of their live performances at Midweek Melodies at 81 Renshaw Street and Liverpool Philharmonic Music Room for Light Night and Merseyside’s Best Vocal Duos. They also had the honour of opening for Tom Hingley (of Inspiral Carpets fame). And if that wasn’t enought they found time to be finalists at the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge.

The single You’re Not Alone is about relationships, about the good times but also the hard and sad times…a nd the something or rather the someone who holds your hand and heart. As well as their own songs they sing a good number of covers from the likes of Jackson Browne, Fleet Foxes, Neil Young and Simon and Garfunkel (there is a Halloween video on YouTube of the duo covering The Sound of Silence) and others.

I will be looking out for Visions of Albion when we can get out to watch live music again, and if you hear this single I won’t be the only one.
