Liverpool Acoustic have joined forces with the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall once again to present a very special evening of music for Light Night 2019.

On Friday 17th May the Music Room will play host to a specially curated lineup of talented local musicians.

Performing on the evening will be stunning vocal duo White Little Lies, popular folk group Two Black Sheep, exciting new duo Visions of Albion, winner of the Liverpool Acoustic 24 Hour Songwriting Challenge 2018 Alison Benson, and winner of the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge 2018 Rachael Jean Harris.

The evening runs from 5.00pm through to 10.00pm with every act performing a ten minute set each hour, so whatever time you pop into the Music Room during Light Night if you stay for 60 minutes you’re guaranteed to catch them all!

This year’s Light Night theme is ‘Ritual’ and each of the acts will be interpreting this in their own unique way.

Entry to the Music Room on the night is totally free, you can stay for as long as you like, and families are welcome. So come along and let Liverpool Acoustic brighten up your Light Night 2019.

Amy Chalmers and Ian Davies accompany their well-crafted folk songs with violin and guitar, and two harmonious voices. Two Black Sheep will no doubt feature songs from their brand new album The Earth Below released earlier this year.

Visions of Albion are Daniel Ryan on guitar and vocals, and Samantha Shields on vocals. Formed in Liverpool in 2017 and taking inspiration from the likes of Fleet Foxes, Simon & Garfunkel, Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell their sound could be described as personal, haunting and mysterious; shedding a new but darker light on folk music

ALISON BENSON

Alison is a singer songwriter from Liverpool. Inspired by the wonderful music of Simon and Garfunkel, her musical style is rooted in folk, with a love of the Beatles thrown in for good measure. Alison grew up playing the guitar and singing, but fell hook, line and sinker for the ukulele a few years ago…an often derided, but beautiful little instrument, Alison uses it to bring a different sound to acoustic music.
