Preview: Ewan McLennan @ 81 Renshaw 06/04/18

Liverpool Acoustic, in association with News From Nowhere, are proud to present Scottish folk sensation Ewan McLennan to the intimate performance space at 81 Renshaw this coming Friday 6th April 2018.

In a short space of time McLennan has come to be known as a guitarist at the forefront of his generation; a troubadour, balladeer and storyteller cut in the old style; a singer that can move audiences with his passion and pathos; and a songwriter for whom social justice is still a burning issue.

Ewan was last seen in Liverpool in 2016 for a sold-out show at the Music Room with Breaking The Spell Of Loneliness, a collaborative tour and album with renowned author and journalist George Monbiot, that sought to use music and word to open up the issue of loneliness and community.

In recent years Ewan has worked with, and learnt from, both Martin Simpson and Dick Gaughan, has taken part in the Transatlantic Sessions, and has won two Spiral Earth Awards and the Alistair Hulett Memorial Prize for Political Songwriting.

Ewan McLennan will be supported on the Liverpool leg of his UK tour by popular local singer-songwriter Thom Morecroft.

This is a rare opportunity to see one of the folk world’s foremost performers in an intimate Liverpool venue. Don’t miss out!
