Remember the 3rd Degree Festival? You know, the annual event that showcased the talent of LIPA’s graduating 3rd year students. Well it seems we’ve seen the last of it.
Never fear though, because The 2ube Extra is here to step into the breach, and it promises to be twice as big as its predecessor with three stages of music on offer.
The launch party took place on 20th April in The 2ube’s regular Friday night slot, and the six days of music kick off on Monday 23rd April and continues every day from 3.30pm to 1.00am through to Friday 28th.
The three stages are:-
PMA Stage: Hosting the Final Year Musicians
The 2ube Stage: Hosting all years from the Uni
Bar Stage: The very best acoustic acts and Djs
And there’s more! The official lineup is being complimented with open mic nights, comedy, and balloon – lots of balloon, courtesy of The Balloons Project.

Liverpool Acoustic is the only website of its kind in the UK. It was founded by Graham Holland in April 2008 as a central resource for the vibrant and exciting acoustic music scene in Liverpool and the Greater Merseyside area. The website publishes news from the local acoustic music scene, previews of upcoming events, reviews of music releases and gigs, and the Liverpool Acoustic Spotlight podcast. This content is available for free via email subscription. The diary lists acoustic events including festivals, theatre concerts, folk clubs, showcases and open mic nights.
