Tik Tok is the brand new single by Woolton tunesmith Rob Clarke.The track is taken from his forthcoming album ‘Blues, Beats And Brel’. The Jacque Brel influence is certainly prevalent on this mournful Parisian style ballad, which features wistful accordion lines by Jo Powell.
His band The Wooltones take a back seat here on this scaled back production by regular collaborator Fran Ashcroft. Rob’s melancholic vocal performance is first rate and stands up to repeated listening.
Rob currently has a monthly residency at The Vic in Woolton on the second Monday of the month with the Les Wooltone Quintet. He’s also playing at the Grateful Fred’s event at The Atkinson in Southport supporting Rhiannon Scutt on Wednesday 7th December 2022.
