Sky Arts Guitar Star sensation Adrian Nation to play Liverpool this Friday

Guitar sensation Adrian Nation is set to make a welcome return to Mathew Street’s View Two Gallery this coming Friday 28th August 2015 when he headlines Liverpool Acoustic Live.

Last August Adrian Nation won a host of new fans after playing a memorable support slot at the View Two followed by a set at the Bluecoat for the Liverpool Acoustic Garden (part of Liverpool International Music Festival). At the start of 2015, and following a recommendation from Liverpool Acoustic’s Graham Holland, Adrian was asked by Sky Arts to audition for their new show Guitar Star. Hosted by Edith Bowman and with judges Nitin Sawhney, Helen Sanderson and Huey Morgan, the aim of the show was to find the UK’s best new extraordinary guitar player. From the thousands who applied, Adrian won a place at the national auditions and was one of only four guitarists to make it through to the acoustic heats where he was mentored by guitar legends Rodrigo y Gabriela before performing to an invited audience at London’s Bush Hall.

Support on the night is provided by young, smoky-voiced blues singer Sophie Anderson, fresh from a live session with Dave Monks on BBC Introducing in Merseyside, a support slot at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall for Roseanne Cash, a performance at FestEvol, and being the Liverpool Echo’s Buzz Artist of the Week.

Completing the lineup is FABIA, the musical incarnation of London born, Liverpool based singer-songwriter and pianist Fabia Anderson who entwines classical and contemporary folk, soul and Baroque-pop.

‘FABIA (Fabia Anderson) is a singer-songwriter from London now living in Liverpool. She came to Liverpool 4 years ago to study music and has been performing her solo material since November 2014 in venues across the North West and London. Entwining the classical and contemporary, FABIA fuses influences of folk, soul and Baroque-pop into her own individual style. Alongside her solo work FABIA can be seen playing in contrasting bands The Soul Rays, The Good Host and The D-Tales.
