LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC CALLING

The double award-winning Liverpool Acoustic is joining forces with the one-day celebration of music know as Liverpool Calling to bring you Liverpool Acoustic Calling.

Liverpool Acoustic Calling is an afternoon chock full of fantastic acoustic, roots, singer-songwriter and folk music from some of the region’s most exciting performers.

This free event takes place from 1.00pm to 5.00pm on Saturday 26th July 2014 at the home of Liverpool Acoustic’s weekly open mic night, Sound Food and Drink.

Liverpool Acoustic co-organiser and open mic host Stuart Todd said “We’re really excited to be taking part in Liverpool Calling this year with a free event to kick-start the day’s proceedings. And we couldn’t think of a better place to hold it than the home of our weekly open mic night Sound Food and Drink.”

19 year old Matt Breen is a highly engaging live performer with an ever expanding repertoire of original songs. He has toured Australia, stared as George Harrison in the stage show Lennon, and has had his cover of Meybellene endorsed by Chuck Berry’s daughter Ingrid.

Rob Jones (vocal/acoustic guitar) & Rob White (vocal) have been harmonising since meeting at school -well, with a few days off to watch football. Rob Jones’ songs attempt to deal with the ups and downs of life, public transport, heartbreak and the Mersey rain – sometimes all in the same song!

Matty H is a 16 year old musician and actor with a heart of gold. After leaving school he has pursued a career in music which has lead to him being signed and playing amazing events such as the Grand National, Southport’s Christmas lights switch on, and of course Liverpool Calling.

RYVERS is a 4-piece ambient/alternative band lead by singer/songwriter Shannen Bamford, currently preparing for the imminent release of their debut single “Someone To Hold” on the 28th July. RYVERS combines dark, eerie guitar riffs with soothing, fragile vocals and soaring harmonies, layered with dreamy synths and haunting piano.
