The Lost Trades – Petrichor
The Lost Trades are a singer-songwriting trio from Wiltshire; featuring Jamie R. Hawkins, Phil Cooper and Tamsin Quin. Their vocal harmonies owe a debt to groups like Crosby, Stills & Nash. Their critically acclaimed second album Petrichor is being supported by an extensive UK tour. The group will be performing at Prohibition Recording Studios on Friday 21st April. linktr.ee/thelosttrades
Igloo Hearts – The Redeemer
Igloo Hearts are Welsh singer-songwriting duo Katie and James MacGregor (on keyboards and acoustic guitar respectively). They’ve been playing regularly on the Liverpool music scene over the past year, including the event It Takes Two at The Philharmonic Music Room. Their current single The Redeemer is a haunting and engaging ballad that best displays their talents for songcraft. You can also check out their previous single Mannequin. linktr.ee/igloohearts
Miles Temp – Crowded Room
Miles Temp is a 16 year old upcoming performer, who has been doing the rounds on the acoustic scene over the past year. These include slots at Keep The Music Going and Round The Corner. The current single Crowded Room is a personal song that has been receiving airplay on local stations Mersey Radio and BBC Radio Merseyside. linktr.ee/milestemp_
Dorothy Bird – Belonging
Dorothy Bird is the brainchild of Julia Fiebelkorn, a German artist based in Liverpool. Her music has been receiving regular airplay on BBC Introducing. The album Belonging had a limited vinyl release last year but has recently been made available to download on Bandcamp. Recorded with Jon Lawton at Crosstown Studios, the set includes the excellent single Kaleidoscope and The Evening. You can read a review of the album here – dorothybird.de
Only Child – Looking Forward To Looking Back
Only Child celebrated their tenth anniversary last year with the release of two albums Straight Lines and the compilation Looking Forward To Looking Back (the first vinyl release on Crosstown Records). Both sets include the excellent song William Ralph Dean. The band (fronted by Alan O’Hare) played successful shows at The Philharmonic Music Room and Leaf and continue to go from strength to strength. onlychild1.bandcamp.com
Rob Clarke – Tik Tok
Rob Clarke is a local singer-songwriter from Woolton, who is sometimes supported by his band The Wooltones. His music encompasses folk, country and classic 60s/70s rock. Tik Tok is his most recent release, which we reviewed back in November (Read the review here). Rob has been busy playing gigs all over the Northwest. The artist will be releasing a brand new album later this year called ‘Blues, Beats And Brel’. https://www.robclarkemusic.com
