THREE MINUTE HERO

Deriving the name from a song by 2-tone ska band The Selecter, Three Minute Hero is a semi acoustic artist active on the live music scene. The brainchild of Liverpool songwriter, musician and award-winning promoterStuart Todd, Three Minute Hero fuses raw social commentary with an eclectic mix of melodic material; elevating the classic three minute pop song by giving it a subversive lyrical twist.

Stuart Todd recorded his first EP Playing The Field in 2004, followed by a second EP Man On A Mission in 2005. Having worked with musician Neil Campbell in the group Triad, the two re-emerged as an acoustic duo; with the release of their long awaited studio album Campbell Todd in October 2007. Stuart fronted his own group, TheFreebies, to promote his first solo album A Question Of Time during 2009/2010.

Since 2009, Stuart has been promoting the long running Liverpool Acoustic event; with Graham Holland at The View Two Gallery. The success of Liverpool Acoustic was confirmed at the first ever Liverpool Music Awards, when Stuart collected the award for Live Music Night of the Year 2012. They won the award again in 2013. Building on this success, Stuart is now running a popular open mic night every Monday at Sound Food & Drink.

Stuart Todd has reinvented himself and is bringing a fresh approach to his music with Three Minute Hero. The artist has been in the studio recording tracks for a new album with respected producer and engineer Andy Fernihough. You can listen to one of the tracks Happy Hour At The Sunrise on SoundCloud

‘One of the great Liverpool voices… an unrelenting beat aesthetic and an ever weather-eye from the back streets. A bit of Cave, a bit of Cash, a soupçon of Cohen, and a whole lot of Catherine Street…”
