Liverpool Acoustic will be four years old this month and we’re celebrating by launching our brand new website.
Next time you visit liverpoolacoustic.co.uk you’ll see that we’ve had a total make-over. Previously the News and Reviews, and the Liverpool Acoustic Spotlight, were on different blog sites separate from the main website. Our new website brings everything together in the one location so it’s now easier than ever to find all your favourite content.
If you currently subscribe to the News and Reviews service via email you shouldn’t notice any changes as we move seamlessly from the old system to the new one. That’s wishful thinking, of course, and there’s every likelihood that your next email will contain more than one news item from the past. Hopefully it will only happen the once, and you can think of it as an Easter bonus!
Our new website looks like this…
News and Reviews – now showing on the home page, with the monthly Newsletter and regular NEWS BLAST available via a drop-down menu
Diary – now showing in agenda view by default Now showing full page month view
Live – showing our future events, plus a drop-down menu with pages for About Our Events, Previous Events, and Downloads (posters and flyers)
Spotlight – the Liverpool Acoustic Spotlight is the twice-monthly audio show available as a free mp3 download
Reviews – a separate menu to access all of our live reviews and reviews of music releases
Interviews – guess what you’ll find here?
Home – sweet home. You’ll also reach here by clicking ‘Liverpool Acoustic’ at the top left of the website
Artists – yes, we know this page is probably out of date (you can tell by the number of links to myspace profiles) but it’s still useful, and is still being added to on a regular basis. If you are an artist and you’re listed here please check that your information is accurate. If you’re an artist and you’d like to be added follow the guidelines at the bottom of the page.
Links – “Why is my service not listed on your links page?” we hear you cry. “Because you’ve never asked” comes our swift reply. If you know something that’s missing, drop us a line.
About – yes, it’s all about the website and the people behind it.
Contact – it’s back! After countless spam-related issues with the old contact form we’re hoping that the new form will remain spam-free without us having to add one of those annoying CAPTCHA things.
We’ve decided to ditch the old guestbook because (a) guestbooks are just soooo last century, and (b) you can now comment directly on all of our posts by logging in with your facebook or twitter accounts. Go on, try it out and see how easy it is.
So, what do you think of the new Liverpool Acoustic website? Love it? Hate it? Have a total indifference to it? Want to see the wood panel background back? Let us know by leaving a comment on the website, facebook, twitter, or the contact page.
Liverpool Acoustic is the only website of its kind in the UK. It was founded by Graham Holland in April 2008 as a central resource for the vibrant and exciting acoustic music scene in Liverpool and the Greater Merseyside area. The website publishes news from the local acoustic music scene, previews of upcoming events, reviews of music releases and gigs, and the Liverpool Acoustic Spotlight podcast. This content is available for free via email subscription. The diary lists acoustic events including festivals, theatre concerts, folk clubs, showcases and open mic nights.
