Everyone’s favourite folk rock band Merry Hell return to the Music Room on Saturday 18th May for Merrymeet 2024.

The first Merrymeet took place last year and was a huge success with two sold out shows at the Liverpool Philharmonic Music Room. This year sees two more shows back to back with a laid back afternoon affair followed by a full-on evening show.

Afternoon show

Virginia Kettle’s Rolling Folk headline the 3pm seated show. This brand new project sees Merry Hell’s leading lady collaborate with some of her marvellous musical mates for a chilled out afternoon of folk. Support is provided by Wirral’s Jim Pearson, winner of the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge 2023. With nine albums to his name, Jim’s music is regularly heard on BBC 6 Music.

Evening show

Merry Hell take to the stage in the evening for their all standing, all dancing, roof raising celebration of music and merriment. Expect to hear songs old and new, plus all the favourites you just have to sing along to. Opening the show at 8pm are The Jesse Janes, an energetic quartet from Ireland and Liverpool who play the (merry) hell out of acoustic, electric, and bass guitars, with mandolin, whistle, and percussion, all brought together with 4-part harmonies that are sure to knock your socks off!

Tickets

Tickets for Virginia Kettle’s Rolling Folk are £16 (unreserved seating) and Merry Hell are £18 (standing). There’s a £6 discount for anyone buying tickets for both shows (discount applied at checkout).

What could be better than a day of faboulous folk and folk rock with some of your favourite performers alongside new names you’re sure to fall in love with?
