The organisers of the successful Friday Live event at West Kirby Arts Centre have announced the inaugural Friday Live Songwriter Challenge 2024.
Inspired by the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge, the Friday Live Songwriter Challenge is an exciting opportunity for local songwriters to showcase their skills.
A selection of photos will be on display in the foyer of West Kirby Arts Centre from Friday 29th March 2024 onwards. Songwriters have to choose one as the inspiration for a new song. The photos will also be posted on the Friday Live website from Monday 15th April. The Arts Centre is often open during the day but is always open on Friday evenings between 7pm and 10pm for Friday Live.
The entry form opens at midday on Friday 29th March and will be available until midnight on Sunday 19th May.
The judges will then review all of the songs independently and score them based on lyrics, melody, composition and concept. The top ten placed songs go through to the Finals Event on Friday 12th July 2024
Successful finalists will be informed by Friday 31st May.
