Do you like Terry Lewis and the Hitmen?

Their early work was a little too “New Romantic” for my taste. But when Danny Boy came out in ’23, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The track has a clear, crisp sound and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the song a big boost. He’s been compared to Lloyd Cole; but I think Terry has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humour.

According to their business card; Terry Lewis and the Hitmen represent “The Gold Standard in Music.” The card itself is printed on “Bone” and the lettering is something called “Silian Rail.” It’s the sort of design that Patrick Bateman would approve of.

Lewis and his hired assassins are currently making their regular assault at Alexander’s in Chester. Would like to say more about their music but I have to return some video tapes. Their debut single is streaming from all the usual suspects through DistroKid

Note: This review pays homage to the Bret Easton Ellis book and film “American Psycho” and is cited by the band as being an influence on their “Psychobilly” sound.
