Alt. acoustic indie rockers Bobhowla have been taking their fans off the waiting list with some recent gigs and the release of a brand new single Tainted. Southport visionary Howard Doupe has once again pulled out all the stops to create an engaging track that will have you reaching for the repeat button.

Recorded with Shipbuilders producer Daniel Woodward at Whitewood Studio in the Baltic Triangle, the lyrical content concerns the Contaminated Blood Scandal of the 1970s and 80s. This event has been described as ‘the worst disaster in the history of the NHS.’ The opening line “Breathing is hard enough – Without the demons waiting at your bed” will draw parallels with the recent Covid pandemic. Despite the serious subject matter, Tainted is a highly commercial sounding proposition that goes for the jugular.

With echoes of A Song For Lovers by Richard Ashcroft, Tainted is Bobhowla’s best sounding record to date and should comfortably keep the momentum going, following their well-received album Everything’s Wrong, But It’s Alright’ (released on 9×9 Records).
