Liverpool troubadour Rosenblume makes a welcome return with a reflective acoustic ballad in the Laurel Canyon tradition.

Fronted by Daniel Ross, his previous EP All Through The Fire, All Through The Rain was a strong showcase for the artist, which led to support slots for the likes of Mick Head (Shack), Laura Oakes and Robert Vincent, along with national airplay from Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2.

His latest release In The Long Run is a heartfelt acoustic ballad with shades of James Taylor in the vocal and guitar playing. Recorded with Alec Brits at The Cabin Studios in Liverpool, the song is a preview from Rosenblume’s long-awaited album.

Lyrically the song is a wistful look back to better times; “Take me back to where I can feel the fire”, because the flame has now gone out and the character is lost in the darkness.

The most striking element of this short but compact piece is the flugelhorn solo, which gives the track an extra lift. An appealing harmony vocal and a memorable chorus should invite regular radio airplay.

In The Long Run by Rosenblume is a mellow slice of Americana with a haunting melody that will shine through.
