It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of our Liverpool Acoustic shows in April and May.
We were already considering this following yesterday’s updated advice from the Government but it was taken out of our hands today with the news that the Philharmonic Hall is to close until further notice.
This affects our shows with Merry Hell (Friday 10th April) and The Spinners Legends (29th and 30th May). At this stage we don’t know if Elfin Bow, Little Sparrow and Dariah Kulesh will go ahead on Saturday 20th June but we’ll let you know as soon as we know.
Our overriding priority is the safety and wellbeing of concertgoers, performers, and members of staff, plus their friends and families, and as such we support The Phil’s decision 100%.
We’re hoping to reschedule these shows for later in the year. If you already have tickets you’ll be able to use them for the rearranged dates. You will also be eligible for a full refund.
And in case you missed Monday’s announcement the final Threshold Festival on 2nd and 3rd April has been postponed. This means the Liverpool Acoustic 24 Hour Songwriting Challenge won’t be going ahead as planned. Threshold tickets will be useable for the rescheduled date once that’s confirmed.
These are unprecedented times for the music and entertainment industry, from independent venues to self employed artists. We don’t know what, if any, additional support will be made available by the Government, but with income from live music disappearing overnight, let’s all do what we can to support everyone in other ways. Instead of going to a show, why not see if musicians and bands are putting on any online performances? Why not buys some new music direct from the musicians so they take a bigger cut? News From Nowhere can post books, CDs and more to you. Check with your independent record stores like 81 Renshaw to see what they can offer.
Liverpool Acoustic will be doing what we can to help. If you’re a musician, venue or local business and you’d like a shout out on our Facebook and Twitter accounts either with something you’re selling or just for moral support then let us know.
We’ve also launched a Facebook Group – the Liverpool Acoustic Noticeboard – that is open to anyone to join to share anything relevant to the local acoustic music scene. You can find it at:-

We’ll finish with this song – We Need Each Other Now – from Merry Hell.
Keep in touch. #StaySafe and #BeKind
