Robin Ince launches new book I’m A Joke And So Are You at 81 Renshaw this Friday with help from She Makes War
Robin Ince, host of BBC Radio Four’s multi award winning The Infinite Monkey Cage with Professor Brian Cox, joins forces with Liverpool Acoustic and independent bookshop News From Nowhere to launch his new book at 81 Renshaw on the evening of Friday 7th December 2018.
His latest book is I’m a Joke and So Are You – a look at psychology, life, death, love and absurdity – described by Matt Haig as ‘A funny, honest and heartwarming look at the anxious phenomenon known as human existence. Robin’s curiosity and fascination with his own and other humans’ foibles make this book a very funny education.’ while Jo brand said of it , “Robin goes on a journey . …no he doesn’t thank God .. he talks about lots of interesting, moving and funny things in this book… And one of the interesting funny things is him!”
Support on the night is from She Makes War. Bristol based multi-instrumentalist, producer and visual artist Laura Kidd blends urgent indie rock with melancholy torch songs. Right now the world needs a warrior, and town by town, tour by tour She Makes War has been widening her battle stance and soothing tortured souls with her no holds barred, peaceful protest music.
Tickets for this show are £8 in advance from 81 Renshaw (online and in person) and TicketQuarter (online and from the Echo Arena box office). Entry on the night is £10.
Doors open at 7.30pm and the event kicks off at 8.00pm.
Join us for an evening of stand up and conversation with Robin Ince, plus music from special guest She Makes War.
