Roxanne de Bastion’s Tales from the Rails tour rolls into town this Friday
Roxanne de Bastion announces a stripped back acoustic tour to celebrate the launch of her first book, Tales From The Rails, with the Liverpool show taking place at the intimate 81 Renshaw venue this coming Friday 3rd August 2018.
The book is a collection of stories which takes the reader from Roxanne’s very first open mic event in the UK through to her set at Glastonbury Festival in 2016.
Roxanne sings deep and delicate songs that dance between left-of-the-middle pop and 60’s inspired rock. Her 2017 release Heirlooms & Hearsay made the UK independent music scene take note: from BBC 6 Music, to Clash, FATEA and R2 Magazine, the nation is falling in love with the London-based, Berlin-born artist, who delivers sharp social commentary with a pure and instantly recognisable voice. Over the past 18 months, de Bastion has opened for Marillion, the Wainwright Sisters, Thea Gilmore and Lambchop, toured in the US and has graced Cambridge Folk Festival’s Stage 2.
Tickets for this show are £8 available in person and online from both 81 Renshaw and the TicketQuarter box office. Entry on the night is £10.
Supporting Roxanne on the night will be local singer-songwriter Rachael Jean Harris and touring New York musician Robin Irene Moss.
The doors open at 7.30pm and the music kicks off at 8.00pm.

Roxanne de Bastion reminds us that great lyrics do have a place in pop music. With a nod to 1960’s psychedelia, Roxanne delivers thoughtful social and personal commentary soaked in piano & cello arrangements.
Born in Berlin to a musical, bilingual family, she started composing and performing at the age of 15. Soon after, Roxanne moved to London, equipped with her guitar, her songs and a one-way ticket.
Glastonbury’s legendary acoustic stage, a showcase at Folk Alliance in the USA, opening for Martha Wainwright, Ricky Ross and Thea Gilmore as well as touring in her own right across Europe only account for a handful of events that filled by Roxanne’s diary over the past twelve months. Her debut album and follow-up EP garnered support from BBC6, Xfm, The Sunday Times, R2 Magazine to name a few. In Germany, Roxanne has even made the prime time news together with Taylor Swift in a feature on the future of music as well as receiving national press in FAZ and Intro Magazine. Roxanne de Bastion is no stranger to the independent music scene supporters across Europe.
In addition to her own music, Roxanne is an advocate of artist rights and represents independent artists on the board of the FAC.
