The Last Waltz, with Seafoam Green
Music Room – Tickets £14.50 from Liverpool Philharmonic box office
Following its debut in Liverpool last year, Mellowtone are proud to announce that Seafoam Green’s Last Waltz will be returning to Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall for two nights on 1st & 2nd December 2017, for an evening with a band and friends, playing over 20 songs from one of the most influential evenings in music history.
On 25 November 1976, at the Hinterland Ballroom in San Fransisco, The Band performed their last ever concert after 16 years on the road. On that faithful night they were joined by some ‘friends’ – Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Muddy Waters, Van Morrison, Dr John, Eric Clapton, Emmylou Harris & Joni Mitchell to name but a few. The event was filmed by director Martin Scorsese and made into a documentary, released in 1978 and has been hailed one of the greatest concert films ever produced.
Over 40 years later, a collective of some of Liverpool’s finest musicians came together to celebrate its influence and its impact. The night was such a success that they’re doing it all again.
