Liverpool Acoustic Newsletter – August 2016
August 2016 is another busy month for Liverpool Acoustic. Tickets are selling fast for our special 50 Years of Revolver show at Leaf this coming Friday 5th August, 50 years to the day since The Beatles launched their genre-bending album. Host Roxanne de Bastion will be joined by a collection of special guests to perform the album in full, with a second half of original songs. You can find out more details here. While you’re there, why not take part in our poll to find out the most popular song from Revolver. Will it be Here, There and Everywhere or Eleanor Rigby? Good Day Sunshine or Got To Get You Into My Life? You decide!
LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC OPEN MIC
Our weekly Liverpool Acoustic Open Mic continues in it’s temporary home The Baltic Social, hosted by Liverpool Acoustic’s Three Minute Hero (Stuart Todd) and K’s Choice Acoustic’s (Derek King). Musicians wishing to reserve an open mic slot can either turn up early and add their name to the list or request a slot online by posting on the facebook event page at facebook.com/liverpoolacoustic/events

Stan Ambrose
On the evening of Friday 26th August we’re opening the doors of the View Two Gallery on Mathew Street and inviting people to come along to celebrate the life of the one-and-only Stan Ambrose, play a song or two, and raise a glass or three.
Doors are opening at 7.30pm and the music starts at the earlier time of 8.00pm.

FOLK FESTIVAL ON THE DOCK
Folk-By-The-Minute
Ziferblat Folk
On the afternoon of Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th August we’ll be running a new event called Folk-By-The-Minute at Ziferblat Albert Dock. This is part of the new Folk Festival on the Dock, brought to you by Albert Dock Liverpool. From 1.00pm to 5.00pm we’ll have an array of talented musicians performing in The Loft upstairs at Ziferblat. Everything inside Ziferblat is free – tea, coffee, juice, cake, biscuits, and on this occasion music – and all you pay for is 8p per minute for the time you spend there.
In the evening on the two days we’ve got two special ticketed concerts we’re calling Ziferblat Folk. The one on Saturday is headlined by Robert Vincent with support from Liz Owen, and the Sunday one is headlined by the Southbound Attic Band with support from ME & Deboe. The tickets will go on sale very soon, and we’re expecting this intimate venue to sell out well in advance.
