We’re really excited this month about our first ever gig at the Music Room. This fantastic new venue is the place to be for Only Child’s album launch this coming Friday 6th May 2016, and Leon Rosselson on Wednesday 14th September.
LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC OPEN MIC
Our weekly Liverpool Acoustic Open Mic continues in it’s new temporary home The Baltic Social. Hosted by Liverpool Acoustic’s Three Minute Hero (Stuart Todd) and K’s Choice Acoustic’s (Derek King) the night starts at the earlier time of 8.00pm, runs through to 11.00pm, and features one or two booked acts alongside the open mic. Musicians wishing to reserve an open mic slot can either turn up early and add their name to the list or request a slot online by posting on the facebook event page at facebook.com/liverpoolacoustic/events
ONLY CHILD ALBUM LAUNCH
Liverpool singer-songwriter Alan O’Hare’s eclectic folk ensemble, Only Child, launch their second album, ‘The Whale Found Its Way To The Shore’, on Friday May 6th 2016 at the Music Room, inside Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall.
Support on the night will come from Dominic Dunn and Vanessa Murray.
Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8.00pm start, and entry is £6 in advance or on the door from liverpoolphil.com 0151 709 3789

LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC LIVE
– featuring The Squirrel Hillbillies
Hailing from deep within the urban forest of Pittsburgh’ East End, the Squirrel Hillbillies (Jenny Wolsk Bain and Gary Crouth) often emerge to share their eclectic mix of folk, country and blues.
Support is provided by James J Turner who’ll be promoting his new single.
Completing the lineup is the Grateful Fred Ukulele Trio, fresh from recording their debut album.
Tickets for the night are £5 in advance from wegottickets.com/liverpoolacoustic or £6 on the door.
Doors open at 7.45pm and the music kicks off at 8.15pm.

- Tuesday 3rd – Anna Corcoran album launch @ Music Room – Liverpool singer-songwriter and pianist Anna Corcoran launches her highly anticipated debut album Easier Than Falling, with support from Robert Vincent. Tickets £10 from liverpoolphil.com 0151 709 3789 or on the door.
- Wednesday 4th – Grateful Fred presents Mean Mary @ The Atkinson -“Mean Mary”…who is the least-mean person you’ll ever meet, played at the Grateful Fred Café Sessions two years ago and because of her amazingly busy schedule playing concerts and festivals throughout the USA and Europe this is the first date she’s been able to return. Supporting her will be Rosenblume, plus hosts Grateful Fred. Tickets are available from The Atkinson here.
- Thursday 5th – Re_Fold @ Jacaranda Records – In response to Japanese artist Ryoichi Kurokawa’s UNFOLD … six local artists (Dave O’Grady, Nick Ellis, LUNA, Mark Byrne, Thom Morecroft, and Ronan Boyle) will perform two songs each – a new piece inspired by the show, and specially written for this performance, as well as one of their existing tracks. 7.30pm start, free entry.
