Liverpool Acoustic Newsletter – February 2016
Thank you to everyone who supported our two events last month. Our first ever gig at Thornton Hough Village Club & Bar was lots of fun, and a lovely crowd gathered in a welcoming venue to enjoy fine sets from Caroline England, Vanessa Murray, Rob Jones and Rob White, Three Minute Hero, and Derek King. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we’re hoping to return at the end of July – watch this space!
Our first gig of the year back at the View Two Gallery was a truly memorable night, with stunning sets from Karen Turley, John Rush, and Xander and the Peace Pirates. An epic night indeed!
Plans are progressing well for the Liverpool Acoustic Festival in March and Threshold Festival in April, but before that we’ve got our 7th birthday show at the View Two with the amazing Little Sparrow. See below for more details.
LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC OPEN MIC
@ SOUND FOOD AND DRINK
Our weekly Liverpool Acoustic Open Mic takes place every Monday at Sound Food and Drink on Duke Street. The venue has a fine selection of drinks plus some of the best handmade pizza in town, and is a perfect setting for live music.
From February onwards the first Monday of the month will be hosted by Liverpool Acoustic’s Three Minute Hero (Stuart Todd), with K’s Choice Acoustic (Derek King) hosting the second and third Monday of the month. We’ll be co-opting in guest hosts for each fourth Monday of the month so if you fancy your hand at this then give us a shout on our facebook page. And if a month has a fifth Monday then we’ll probably resort to a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide who hosts!
Each night starts at 8.30pm, runs through to 11.30pm, and features one or two booked acts alongside the open mic. Musicians wishing to reserve an open mic slot can either turn up early and add their name to the list or request a slot online by posting on the facebook event page at facebook.com/liverpoolacoustic/events
Our next one is on Monday 1st February 2016 and it would be great to see as many of you there as possible.
LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC LIVE 7TH BIRTHDAY

Completing the lineup is special guest Swiss singer-songwriter Miriam Crespo who’ll be joining us as part of her UK tour.
