Liverpool Acoustic Newsletter – January 2016
Happy New Year, and happy new website!
Yes, the Liverpool Acoustic website has been given something of a makeover. The old blog format has been replaced by a lovely new magazine layout which should make it easier to find the articles you love. The new site is fully responsive too, which means it’ll automatically adapt to different screen sizes making it equally beautiful and accessible on computers, laptops, tablets and mobile phones. We’re still tweaking things behind the scenes, but we’d love to know what you think about it. You can leave a comment below (if you’re reading this on the website), on facebook or twitter, using the ‘contact’ form on the website, or by email to contact@liverpoolacoustic.co.uk – all constructive comments welcome!
But it’s not all about the website, and here at Liverpool Acoustic we’re looking forward to another great year of fantastic live acoustic music. Here’s just some of what we’ve got on offer over the next twelve months.

LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC OPEN MIC
@ SOUND FOOD AND DRINK
The weekly Liverpool Acoustic Open Mic takes place every Monday at Sound Food and Drink on Duke Street. The venue has a fine selection of drinks plus some of the best handmade pizza in town, and is a perfect setting for live music. Alternate weeks are hosted by Liverpool Acoustic’s Three Minute Hero (Stuart Todd) and K’s Choice Acoustic (Derek King).
Each night starts at 8.30pm, runs through to 11.30pm, and features one or two booked acts alongside the open mic. Musicians wishing to reserve an open mic slot can either turn up early and add their name to the list or request a slot online by posting on the facebook event page at facebook.com/liverpoolacoustic/events
Our first one of the year is on Monday 11th January 2016 and it would be great to see as many of you there as possible.
LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC & K’S CHOICE
@ THORNTON HOUGH VILLAGE CLUB & BAR
Our first showcase event of 2016 sees Liverpool Acoustic’s first ever venture overseas, or, as the locals like to call it, Wirral!
On Saturday 23rd January 2016 we’re joining forces with K’s Choice to present an evening of music at Thornton Hough Village Club and Bar.
Headlining will be respected local singer-songwriter Caroline England, with support from Rob Jones and Rob White, Three Minute Hero, Derek King, and special guest Vanessa Murray.
Tickets are available now in advance for £4.00 (+40p booking fee) from wegottickets.com/liverpoolacoustic or for £5 on the door on the night.
Doors open at 8.00pm and the music kicks off at 8.30pm.

LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC LIVE
Due to the Thornton Hough gig on 23rd January our Liverpool Acoustic Live event has been moved back a week and will now take place on Friday 29th January 2016.
The night will feature an extremely rare acoustic set at Mathew Street’s intimate View Two Gallery from local rock and roll legends Xander and the Peace Pirates.
And if that wasn’t exciting enough, there’s also stellar support in the form of Glasgow’s John Rush who impressed everyone who saw him play at the 2015 Threshold Festival, and Omah’s Karen Turley who last year was one of two singer-songwriters chosen to take part in concerts linking Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe and Liverpool’s Bluecoat.
Tickets are available now in advance for £5.00 (+50p booking fee) from wegottickets.com/liverpoolacoustic or for £6 on the door on the night (if there are any left!).
TICKET ALERT – As of 1st January there are only 21 advance tickets left for this gig, so if you want to be guaranteed a place you’ll need to be quick about it.
Doors open at 7.45pm and the music kicks off at 8.15pm.

All the best for the future, guys.
