After the Liverpool Acoustic Garden and Above the Beaten Track over consecutive weekends at the end of August, we’re keeping up the pace in September 2014 with the Liverpool Acoustic Afternoon, the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge, our monthly double award-winning Liverpool Acoustic Live, the relaunch of our weekly open mic, and a special show at Leaf featuring the fabulous The Mono LPs. LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC OPEN MIC @ SOUND FOOD AND DRINK
Liverpool Acoustic Open Mic returns today, Monday 1st September, with new partner and co-host K’s Choice Acoustic’s Derek King joining regular co-host, Liverpool Acoustic’s Stuart Todd (Three Minute Hero).
This popular event takes place every Monday from 8.30pm to 11.30pm at Sound Food and Drink on Duke Street, and features two or three booked acts plus plenty of open mic slots.
Musicians can book an open mic slot by turning up early and seeing the week’s host, or by posting a request on the facebook event page at facebook.com/liverpoolacoustic/events

LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC SONGWRITING CHALLENGE
& LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC AFTERNOON
Saturday 6th September sees the launch of the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge 2014, the annual event that sees the region’s songwriters challenged to write a song inspired by a work of art in the View Two Gallery.
We’ll be bringing you more details in a couple of days time, but in the meantime you can find out more information on the Songwriting Challenge website at challenge.liverpoolacoustic.co.uk
The gallery is open from 12.00pm to 5.00pm and we’ll be running our Liverpool Acoustic Afternoon from 1.00pm to 4.00pm. We’ve got lots of open mic spaces plus special booked guests Vallamo from Finland, and local duo Ego and the Other.

This special evening takes place at LEAF on Bold St, one of Liverpool’s top independent venues, and features support from special guests award-winning American singer-songwriter Jesse Terry, and multi-instrumentalist musician and illustrator Paul Straws.

Liverpool Acoustic Live for Friday 26th September 2014 sees the return of James M Carson who last played for us at the View Two Gallery back in May 2010. James will be supported by local musician Joe Rhead, and Irish singer-songwriter ODi.

- Open Mic @ O’Neills is a new weekly event every Tuesday at O’Neills on Duke Street in St Helens. It runs from 10pm to 1am and is free to attend. The night is hosted by local musician and Caves frontman Andy Pink.
