JOE TOPPING

Joe Topping is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who has been described as a “cross between Ry Cooder, Woody Guthrie and Paul Brady”. From the traditional music heard in the folk clubs he grew up around to the Americana and blues influences from his adventures in the USA which have included living in a pickup truck and driving around America for the best part of a year and later walking 1400 miles with a guitar on his back from Chicago to New Orleans!

Joe has developed his own unique bottleneck guitar style which he employs in many of his original songs and has a voice that can move from velvet soft to steely and powerful. Joe has played on stage and in the studio with many legends of the British folk scene including members of Fairport Convention, While and Matthews, Andy Irvine and most recently as stand in lead vocalist in the BBC2 award winning “Best live Act” Home Service whilst John Tams recovered from surgery.

Joe also currently plays in the bands  Elbow Jane and The Rainbow Chasers (with Ashley Hutchings).

PADDY CLEGG

Paddy Clegg is a 17 year old singer songwriter from Huyton, Liverpool.
From a young age the teenager has had a great interest in music with him being a drummer in bands in the past. However, since October 2013, Paddy picked up his second instrument (the guitar) and started to write/compose and record his own songs in his bedroom. Shortly after having a few original songs under his belt he began to gig in and around the Liverpool area displaying his musical talents to the public.
As soon as 2014 kicked in, Paddy burst onto the Liverpool Music scene releasing his catchy debut single Back To The Start. The single had a very positive response with it being played on Dave Monks’ BBC Introducing show on BBC Radio Merseyside.
Many people have described Paddy’s music sound to having similar sort of elements to big stars such as The La’s, Newton Faulkner, Jake Bugg and Mumford & Sons.
Paddy released his debut 4 track EP called Head In The Clouds in early March and which is available to purchase on iTunes.VIDEO PREVIEW youtu.be/hBQmQSucjiw – WARNING!!! This song Back To The Start by Paddy Clegg is infectious!!! You’ve been warned!
