Launched at Liverpool Town Hall on 30th April, the Liverpool Music Awards returns with a few welcome changes.
Liverpool City Council is now the main sponsor of the Liverpool Music Awards 2013, with the awards ceremony to be held at St George’s Hall being brought forward to coincide with the new Liverpool International Music Festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Major of Liverpool Joe Anderson is sponsoring the One to Watch Award which is dedicated to the memory of 18 year old Michael Molloy who lost his life in the Bestival coach crash last year.

- Live Music Night of the Year
- Artist Manager/Management Team of the Year
- Producer/Production Team of the Year
- Record Label of the Year
- Recording Studio of the Year
- Single of the Year
- Album of the Year
- Female Artist of the Year
- Male Artist of the Year
- Band of the Year
- DJ of the Year
- The Michael Molloy Award for the One To Watch
- Local Music Champion
- The Roger Eagle Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music
- The Lifetime Achievement Award

Nominations are open now, and close at midnight on Friday 31st May.
The first batch of judges for this year has been announced.
- Yaw Owusu – curator of the Liverpool International Music Festival
- Spike Beecham – live event producer and production manager
- Roger Hill – broadcaster, and winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award 2012
- Steve Levine – record producer
- Billy Butler – broadcaster
More judges will be announced over the coming months.
The awards nomination party will take place at Eric’s in July.
