The Mono LPs describe themselves as “rock’n’roll with a cello!” Championed by BBC Introducing’s Dave Monks, having released their debut single Die A Little Death with Cavern Records in 2012, The Mono LPs are considered one of Liverpool’s bright young things attracting a lot of attention and selling out venues all over the UK.
Recent support gigs include Status Quo, Toploader, Space, Sandi Thom and Starsailor. Headlining shows for Alan Magee’s (Oasis, Creation Records) DEATHDISCO night in the Nottinghill Art Club London and Liverpool, not to mention being invited to play Kendal Calling Festival and the Mathew Street Festival in front of an audience of 3,000. The band goes from strength to strength as they are soon to be back in the studio to record their follow-up single and are planning an upcoming tour.

LIVERPOOL ECHO, Peter Guy ‘Get Into This’
‘a special Liverpool indie band’…’reel off a slew of songs which are bonafide hits waiting to happen’

NME…
‘best band of the festival, by far, were The Mono LPs’ (Threshold festival 2011)

Kyle Falconer (The View)…
‘outstanding vocals’ (2010 Liverpool Heebie Jeebies Halloween Special)

BBC Introducing’s Dave Monks,
‘Fantastic band. They just keep getting better and better!’

Having played with many bands ranging in style from punk rock to heavy blues, he currently plays solo acoustic tunes, with an emphasis on strong melodies and incisive lyrics. An early review, in Liverpool’s Live Magazine described his debut CD as “F****** amazing”.

Paul Liddell is a working musician, singer, songwriter and recording artist based by the sea in the North East of England. He is an experienced live performer with an unstoppable work ethic, clocking up on average 20 gigs a month both solo and with his band Delphians. He was recognised by PRS as ‘most gigging songwriter 2009’. Live, his unique voice and unpretentious delivery combine with the use of live sampling, guitar percussion and layered vocal harmonies to provide a great platform for his wonderful songs to shine.

Liddell has toured America, appearing everywhere from coffee houses to a TV show in Time Warner’s Hollywood studios. Here in the UK he has performed on the main stage at Beverley Folk Festival and shared billing with Billy Bragg, Turin Brakes, Beth Rowley, Glenn Tilbrook, Karine Polwart, Calvin Harris, Nick Harper, and Florence and the Machine. Paul’s current album Milestones and Motorways is a proudly home-made and independent release.

“An artist in the bloom of their creativity.” Folking.com

“Milestones and Motorways is a real troubadour album.” Fatea Magazine

“Paul is a smooth and capable guitarist… [his album is a] sharply etched portrait of life in modern Britain.” Guitarist Magazine

Niamh Jones is a 15 year old singer song-writer born and brought up in Liverpool. Niamh grew up surrounded by music with the Irish roots of her family and her parents’ 80s influences. She has played the guitar for 5 years and her Mum has always said she was humming tunes before she could speak. Niamh enjoys putting pen to paper, being influenced by the likes of Amy MacDonald and Newton Faulkner in her sound and lyrics. Close your eyes and you could be listening to a young Tracy Chapman!

She has always been drawn to live music and has been inspired by the likes of Rob Vincent and The Southbound Attic Band in local venues such as Woodwards and Cafe D’Art where she regularly plays. Niamh plans to continue with her song-writing and hopes she will have the opportunity to play her music in bigger venues over the next couple of years.
