We were going to title this news post “Dawsons is closing” but didn’t want to cause anyone to drop their spoon into their Coco Pops in shock (other chocolate-flavoured breakfast cereals are available).
Yes, Dawson’s is closing the doors on it’s current Ranelagh Street store for the final time at the end of trading on Saturday 12th January 2013.
The good news is that the staff will be spending the following week moving all the stock (and the posters?) to the new, larger store on Williamson Street, the road that runs from Church Street to Richmond Street, parallel to Whitechapel. They haven’t got a definite opening date or time as yet, but hope to welcome in their first customers some time during the weekend of Saturday 19th January.
UPDATE: Click here to read about the opening date and guitar competition.
You can keep up to date with the move’s progress on their facebook page, and by following them on twitter @dawsonsmusic
