Acoustic Club Asylum Link fundraiser
The Zanzibar Club, Seel Street
Sunday 26th June, 4pm to 11pm

News just in from Stuart Todd

A fundraiser is to be staged at The Zanzibar in Liverpool on 26th June. The event, organised by musician Dave Owen, is in aid of the charity Asylum Link, which is due to close its doors after having its funding stopped. The charity provides support to 2,500 people from 74 countries around the world. They provide services such as English lessons and conversation clubs, food and clothing handouts, help with dealing with the home office; amongst other vital services. The closure is estimated to have a profound effect on the most vulnerable and misrepresented part of society and communities in Liverpool.

The event will be revived under the Acoustic Club name and will take place at The Zanzibar, Seel Street on Sunday 26th June. The line up so far includes Sparkwood & 21, The Big House, Jeff Jepson, Gavin Cosgrove, Dead Cities, The Sixteen Tonnes, The Hayze, and Stan Ambrose. Other names are expected to be added to the bill. Dave Owen will also be playing with his band The Grand Architects.

Entry is £4 on the door, and the facebook event page is here.
