Troy Faid is an incredibly talented musician from Leeds. BBC6 Music’s Tom Robinson described Troy as a “stunning guitarist and songwriter” and NormanRecords.com said his music was “passionately executed”. His first album Last Week’s Tune is available to buy from iTunes, and Troy will be playing for us in Liverpool before heading out to play Strummercamp the next day. If you like great guitar playing like Drake and Jansch, you’ll love Troy Faid!

Kristi Michele is an Indie Folk songstress hailing from the dusty edges of Southern California. Her songs are tales of misty forests, chirping birds, and creaking Viking boats woven into ornate tapestries of sound, with touches like glockenspiel and auto harp. Her voice has the nostalgic quality of a vintage chanteuse, hinting at the torch singing of Billie Holiday, the wavering folk bellow of Maddy Prior, and the theatrical alto of a turn-of-the-century vaudevillian act. British folk, Broadway show tunes, Brill-Building pop, jazz, blues, cabaret, and psychedelia are each influences on her songs. She is like a rainbow comprised of all the colours left over from many a rainy day- whatever the package, her songs evoke a time gone by.
“Songs Across the Seaside”, fourteen songs written by Kristi Michele on the acoustic guitar over one “endless summer day”, tells of a lover long lost across the sea, and of an imagination run wild, fabricating the future and living in a present perceived through dreams, a modern day fairy tale of the mind.
Kristi is a late addition to the Liverpool Acoustic Live lineup. She is visiting the UK to play at Stuart Anthony’s album launch event, and when we heard she had a spare night we just had to book her to play at the View Two.
