This month’s Liverpool Acoustic Live is our second anniversary on Friday 25th February 2011 at the View Two Gallery on Mathew Street.

  • Stephen Langstaff returns to the View Two Gallery for the third year in a row and it’s great to see him back. Stephen is a major talent more used to large stages such as the O2 Academy, Echo Arena (supporting Deacon Blue), and The Philharmonic Hall (supporting The Lightning Seeds) but for one night only he’s returning to his acoustic roots.
  • Caroline England is back performing after taking time off recently, and we’re chuffed that she’s agreed to play for us at this gig. Expect great songs and a beautiful voice.
  • Peter Aldridge combines the power of music with the emotional impact of poetic language to craft both strong and subtle observations and reflections of the human condition.
  • Dom Newton is inspired by the legend of Robert Johnson, the intensity of Son House and the showmanship of Dr. John and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. And we like a blues at Liverpool Acoustic Live!

Langstaff has also clocked an impressive number of support slots (The Lightning Seeds, The Wombats, Foy Vance, Deacon Blue) winning over both arena audiences and intimate audiences with his captivating live performance.

Stephen has made several appearances at festivals including Scotland’s Wicker Man festival and the Greenbelt festival. He was invited onto the 02 ‘Academy Live’ tour, designed to promote the UK’s newest and most exciting artists and has also toured the UK with the Lightning Seeds, once again leaving new audiences and critics converted every night.

Simply a smouldering, flame haired Medusa bursting out of the musical haven that is Hoylake armed with her acoustic guitar.

Peter Aldridge is a singer/songwriter living in Lancashire. He performs regularly in the clubs and music venues of the North West. “Shape of the sky” and “Long night’s time” are the first two albums of his trilogy “Mythology of Storms”. He combines the power of music with the emotional impact of poetic language to craft both strong and subtle observations and reflections of the human condition. He is quickly gaining a reputation and following amongst those who like intelligent and sensitive original material, well played and well sung.

Peter will be accompanied on the night by guitarist Steve Ripley who also plays with the Patti da Silva band and who has his own blues band Rumours. He is an exceptional player of high quality, whose guitar style complements and enriches Peter’s songs.

Heaven and hell, death and the Devil, salvation, damnation and the undead provide dark inspiration for this Liverpool blues man Dom Newton‘s songs. A veteran of innumerable gigs and blues festivals this is ‘hellhound on your tail’ blues inspired by the legend of Robert Johnson, the intensity of Son House and the showmanship of Dr. John and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. An intense vocalist and powerful guitar, slide-guitar and harmonica player his songs have been BBC radio playlisted as well gaining airplay in Australia, Germany, Poland and on the National Blues Deluxe show in the USA.
