It may be the start of the summer hols, but there’s no shortage of events to keep us going in August. There’s the Acoustic Air Raid returning for a second year, the Acoustic Stage at Liverpool’s first ever Pride event, the Mathew Street Fringe, plus lots of exciting gigs and open mic events.
Liverpool Acoustic is taking part in the Above the Beaten Track event which is returning for a third consecutive year. The last two have been so successful (too successful?) that it has outgrown its previous venue and has moved to The Bluecoat. More details below.

You say goodbye…
- We’re happy to tell you that none of the regular events has stopped in the past month, although the Kroaky Open Mic has moved venues (see below)
- My go! My go! is the wonderfully named new open mic event at Mello Mello. It takes place on the first and third Wednesday of the month.
- The Kroaky Open Mic has moved from The Horse and Jockey in Melling (every Tuesday) to the Mariners Inn, Westvale, Kirkby (every Thursday). This is a very welcoming venue and the organisers are looking forward to seeing lots more visitors at the new venue.
- Although not exclusively acoustic (anything goes, apparently) Terry’s Open Mic at Vinyl Bar on Lark Lane takes place every Wednesday from 9.00pm to midnight and is a great place to perform or just go along to listen.
AND FINALLY…
Thanks to everyone who took the time and effort to fill in the survey about the Liverpool Acoustic News and Reviews. We’ll be collating the results and reporting the findings in a couple of weeks so there’s still time to take part if you haven’t already. Just go to liverpoolacoustic.co.uk/survey and complete the brief form before 8th August.
Thanks also to Mike Neary for the Alex Berger review and Kathy Runswick who sent us the Folk at the Manor review last month. It’s always good to get new voices on the website and if anyone else would like to review a gig or album then get in touch using the Contact Us form or by emailing contact[at]liverpoolacoustic.co.uk and we’ll be right back to you with more information. We’re currenly looking for someone to review the Acoustic Stage at Liverpool Pride on 7th August so let us know if you’re interested.
Graham,
on behalf of the Liverpool Acoustic Team
