The 3rd Degree Music Festival kicks off tomorrow, Thursday 16th April.
For those of you who haven’t come across this festival before, the 3rd Degree is an opportunity for 3rd year students (see what they did there?) from LIPA – the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts – to showcase their amazing talents, and to prove to the world that the last three years of blood, sweat and tears have been worth it. OK, maybe not blood, but you get the picture.
There’s a festival event on every day (except Sunday) from 16th April to 1st May. For all the events the doors open at 5.00pm (yes, we know that’s early) with the first act on stage at 5.30pm for an 8.30pm finish. And it’s all happening in the Sir Paul McCartney Auditorium in LIPA’s Mount Street building.
Each night costs £4 but the fantastic news is that a festival wristband is on sale for only £12 that will get you into all 14 gigs. What an absolute bargain, eh?
The programme has something on offer for most musical tastes, such as big band (17th), indie (19th), rock (20th, 21st, 24th), alternative (22nd), pop (23rd), and jazz and soul (26th, 27th).
However, what we’re really interested in is the absolute glut of acoustic, singer-songwriter, and nu-folk performances, which we’ve kindly listed below for you.
