Despite lockdown, 2020 has been a productive year for The New Icons with the release of their album Electric Ghost Graffiti through local label Breckside Records.
Written and recorded by Anthony Hart from his home studio, She Cries Herself To Sleep is a hypnotic ballad with shades of R.E.M and The High Llamas. The sound of arpeggiated guitars and mournful vocals have an enduring charm. The understated power of the track grows with each subsequent listen and is a change of pace from the psychedelic rock of previous release The Wagon.
This earworm has been well received and is proving a popular staple on internet radio stations. The single also comes with an imaginative music video.
