LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC LIVE

Liverpool Acoustic Live is set to be an memorable night of live music and poetry with extra special guest Larry Beckett in one of only two UK shows.

Respected American poet Larry Beckett was Tim Buckley’s lyricist right up until Tom’s untimely death in 1975. Larry wrote the lyrics to Song to the Siren, first released on Buckley’s 1970 album Starsailor and subsequently covered by a diversity of stars including George Michael, Half Man Half Biscuit, Robert Plant, The Chemical Brothers, Sinéad O’Connor, and Bryan Ferry.

Larry Beckett will be reading some of his poetry and lyrics on the evening of Friday 26th June 2015 in the intimate performance space at Mathew Street’s View Two Gallery. Joining Larry will be The Long Lost Band who will be performing Song To The Siren, plus new song On The Hook. Larry wrote the lyrics for On The Hook in early summer 1975 but Tom died before composing the music. Four decades later Larry Beckett gave the lyrics to The Long Lost Band who completed the song and will be debuting it on the night at the View Two.

Supporting Larry and The Long Lost Band will be local singer-songwriter David James Robertson, plus duo Geoghegan Jackson.

Tickets are available now in advance for £7.00 (+70p booking fee) from wegottickets.com/liverpoolacoustic or for £8 on the door on the night.

Doors open at our regular time of 7.45pm with the music starting at 8.15pm sharp.
