The Carrivick Sisters play Grateful Fred’s – Thursday 3rd February

Grateful Fred’s is kicking off their new 2011 season with a fantastic gig featuring The Carrivick Sisters on Thursday 3rd February at the Freshfield Hotel in Formby.

Twin sisters Charlotte and Laura Carrivick were finalists in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2010, and in the past year they were invited to SxSW in Texas and have shared a stage with Martin Simpson, Ralph McTell, Eliza Carthy, Show of Hands, The Coal Porters, Po’Girl, Uncle Earl and Curved Air. They have also made several appearances on television and radio. That’s a lot to pack in given their youth – but just wait ‘til you hear them!

“I am very impressed by The Carrivick Sisters, one of the best young duos I’ve ever heard. The girls sing and play as one and their work is characterised by great musicality. They are not only very talented instrumentalists and singers but they write really good songs as well.” Ralph McTell
