DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT \n\n\n\n31st August sees the second instalment of Keep The Music Going\, which takes place at Pierre Griffes on Allerton Road in Liverpool.  \n\n\n\nWhite Little Life – photo by Leigh and Lee\n\n\n\nFeaturing in this event will be rising stars of the acoustic scene\, White Little Lies\, who consist of Vanessa Murray & Daniel Saleh\, whose debut EP\, ‘Parallel’\, was recorded by hit producer Tony Draper and has received support from BBC 6 Music\, BBC Introducing\, UK Country Radio and Country Hits. The release was launched at a sold-out show inside Liverpool’s world-famous Parr Street Studios.  \n\n\n\nAlison Benson – photo by Warren Millar\n\n\n\nCo-headlining this session will be multi award-winning songwriter\, Alison Benson\, who has won the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge on three occasions and has a great reputation for writing songs that connects with a listener having appeared at numerous highly respected venues. \n\n\n\nBrought to you by Rob Gough Promotions\, in association with Liverpool Acoustic\, Keep The Music Going\, will be a series of fortnightly shows all about music and supporting up and coming songwriters and musicians whilst also featuring established performers along the way. \n\n\n\nDuring this series of gigs every effort will be made to keep ticket prices affordable so that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy live music. \n\n\n\nThe first session takes place on Wednesday 31st August 2022 at Pierre Griffes Cafe Bar & Bistro on Allerton Road in Liverpool. All money raised goes to supporting the work of LCVS and additional donations are both accepted and welcome. \nLiverpool Acoustic are looking after the afternoon from 1pm to 5pm with hosts Derek King and Stuart Todd introducing an array of talent including Carl Southworth\, Tom Vern\, Chris Callander\, SirneSong\, The Folk Doctors\, Charlie McKeon\, King & Byrne\, and Visions of Albion. \nHeaven’s Gate take over at 6.15pm and take us through to 11pm with Rae Clark\, Gareth Heesom\, Campbell L Sangster\, Rachael Jean Harris\, Mathew McClure\, Shadow Captain\, Katie Nicholas and Thom Morecroft. \nLiverpool and Merseyside are famous throughout the land for supporting worthy causes and social justice\, and We Shall Overcome is an ideal opportunity for us to show what we think of the current shitshow. \nCome on\, let’s do this!

In Color is “a band from Liverpool\, and all over the world”. With members from Denver\, Colorado\, this Lipa-based outfit have a fresh and exciting sound that will definitely get the afternoon off to a rousing start. \nNiamh Jones is currently studying at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) in Brighton. Steeped in family traditions of Irish music\, Niamh has previously performed well-received sets at Above the Beaten Track and the Liverpool Acoustic Festival. \nDerek King is a singer-songwriter with two albums of thoughtful\, well-written songs already under his belt. A stalwart of the local scene\, Derek runs and co-hosts the weekly Liverpool Acoustic Open Mic at the Courtroom Cafe\, and the monthly Liverpool Acoustic Live at the View Two Gallery. \nIan Janco rides the full spectrum of folk and Americana\, often with a pop twinge. Hailing from California but now based in Liverpool\, Ian’s songwriting recently received a glowing review from Getintothis. \nNicola Hardman is no stranger to Liverpool Acoustic\, having stepped in at short notice to fill a gap in the lineup for Liverpool Acoustic Live last January. Nicola’s performances combine interesting songs and captivating performances with voice and keyboard. \nThree Minute Hero is a trio fronted by former Liverpool Acoustic organiser Stuart Todd on guitar and vocals\, with Andy Fernihough on bass and Chris Cousineau on percussion. Expect catchy\, upbeat songs with a social conscience. \nKatie Spencer is a singer songwriter from the Kingston upon Hull end of the M62 who’s inspired by the people and her surroundings in the Yorkshire countryside. Once inside\, everything you receive is free – the coffee\, the cake\, the wi-fi\, the comfy chairs\, and on this occasion the live folk music. You pay only for the time you spend at just 8p per minute.
