Her live shows continue to draw devoted listeners alongside new audiences discovering her for the first time. \n\n\n\nSupport is from John Jenkins and Pippa Murdie. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Earnest and witty\, tender and cynical all at the same time” – RnR Magazine \n\n\n\n“Reaffirms her place as one of our most intelligent and erudite singer-songwriters” – FATEA \n\n\n\n“A voice like Kate McGarrigle meets Dory Previn. Wonderful” – Mike Harding \n\n\n\n“Brave\, poignant\, entertaining\, original” – The Guardian ???? \n\n\n\n“Charlie Dore is one of this country’s finest songwriters\, a poet with the keenest of eyes” – Americana UK

SUMMARY:Merry Helloween @ The Citadel 25/10/25
DESCRIPTION:GET READY for the triumphant return of (drumroll….) MERRY HELLOWEEN!!! \n\n\n\nLike a good (bad?) vampire\, werewolf or zombie mysteriously back from the dead\, on Saturday 25th October\, everyone’s favourite folk rock band MERRY HELL returns to St Helens’ best loved music venue The Citadel with their annual Merry Helloween show. Expect devilishly good songs\, spooktacular musicianship\, and singing so good it’ll send a shiver down your spine. Throw into the mix copious amounts of dancing and audience participation\, and you’ve got yourself an experience that’ll haunt you (in a good way) all the way through to at least Christmas! \n\n\n\nMerry Hell have made a name for themselves in recent years as one of the most energetic and entertaining bands on the UK folk festival circuit\, with four critically acclaimed albums under their belts. \n\n\n\nFounded on the ever-evolving folk tradition – music made by the people and shared by the people – though their hearts and souls are tuned to the songs which came before\, Merry Hell bring us new words and music forged from their own experiences\, from the lows and the loves of their lives. \n\n\n\nEmerging from the ashes of festival favourites\, punk folk band Tansads\, Merry Hell retains a nucleus of brothers John\, Bob and Andrew Kettle (guitar\, mandolin and vocals respectively)\, along with keyboard player Lee Goulding and drummer Andy Jones\, and the addition of keys and vocalist Virginia Kettle has helped create a new identity\, purpose and spirit\, in their music. \n\n\n\nThis show is standing in the stalls – although when we say standing\, what we really mean is dancing! There’s reserved seating in the circle for those who wish to rattle their jewellery in good old Beatles fashion. So come on\, what are you waiting for? Grab your tickets now before they sell out!

SUMMARY:John Reed @ Prohibition Recording Studios 13/02/25
DESCRIPTION:Liverpool Acoustic are proud to present John Reed in concert. \n\n\n\nJohn has been immersed in music since his early teens in Blackpool\, stage managing gigs at university in Norwich during six vibrant months in 1976 that took us from Progressive Rock to Punk\, then back again in the early 1980s. \n\n\n\nHe took a long hiatus from music to raise a family\, and enjoyed a business life that took him across the world absorbing other cultures\, music and art. \n\n\n\nIn 2014 he bought a cittern\, now his trademark instrument\, and a chance meeting with Manchester producer Ali Karim Esmaail saw him produce his debut album “Moorscape” in 2016. \n\n\n\nJohn was joined by his backing band ‘The Folded Arms’ for a few releases before releasing “Inheritance” in 2019. On the same day\, Jo Beth Young released her “Strangers” album and that led indirectly to them forming ‘Nightsong’ with Ali Karim. They released their much-acclaimed album “The Peasants’ Revolt” in December 2020. \n\n\n\nJohn moved to Berwick upon Tweed in January 2022 and set up his Berevic home studio\, self-recording his “Elevation” album which was released in October 2023\, and is currently working on multiple different music projects. John has run ‘John Reed’s Progressive & Acoustic Compendium’radio show since Spring 2021\, on Folk Friday Radio since February this year\, which means he also plays a part in supporting other independent musicians. \n\n\n\nKLOF (Folk Radio UK) on The Peasants’ Revolt “A remarkable\, well-researched\, historically illuminating\, contemporary resonating and consummately created album that is both musically esoteric and accessible\, haunting and atmospheric\, it deserves to become a classic of its kind.” \n\n\n\nSupporting John will be Rob Clarke & Lindsey Holding. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. \n\n\n\nConsider this your chance\, as a fan\, to come hear the artist you love perform in an intimate\, inner-city studio environment and also discover new\, similar and fantastic musicians. \n\n\n\nThis is a unique gig experience that puts you at the heart of the artist’s performance. SUMMARY:SOLD OUT - Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horrors @ Music Room 31/10/22
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT\n\n\n\nNosferatu (1922) is arguably the film that gave birth to the horror genre. Notable as the first cinematic interpretation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula\, its combination of expressionistic acting and unforgettable images render it just as powerful and unsettling today as when it first thrilled cinema goers 100 years ago. \n\n\n\nChris Green’s new score was originally commissioned by English Heritage for a live screening of the film at Dracula’s spiritual home of Whitby Abbey. The music is a haunting blend of electronic and acoustic instruments performed live by the composer and\, combined with director F.W. Murnau’s iconic images\, makes for a genuinely remarkable and unique cinematic experience. \n\n\n\nBorn into a musical family in Coventry\, Chris Green began playing guitar at the age of eight and piano from the age of nine\, and plays most things with fretted strings or keys. Largely self-taught\, he’s worked in a variety of musical genres including folk\, theatre and early music. He’s a regular musician at Shakespeare’s Globe and was also one of the musicians on BBC’s Poldark. He also writes and composes and in 2018\, he released his first solo album Switched-On Playford\, which fuses 17th century dance music with electronica\, using a blend of early instruments\, synths and loops.
