DESCRIPTION:Liverpool Acoustic and Heaven’s Gate join forces once again to bring you the now traditional We Shall Overcome all-dayer at 81 Renshaw. It takes place on Saturday 5th October and runs from 1pm to 11pm (with a short break at the end of the afternoon). \nEntry is a budget-busting £3 on the door or £5 for entry and a natty WSO wristband that you can cherish all year round. All money raised goes to supporting the work of LCVS and additional donations are both accepted and welcome. \nLiverpool Acoustic are looking after the afternoon from 1pm to 5pm with hosts Derek King and Stuart Todd introducing an array of talent including Carl Southworth\, Tom Vern\, Chris Callander\, SirneSong\, The Folk Doctors\, Charlie McKeon\, King & Byrne\, and Visions of Albion. \nHeaven’s Gate take over at 6.15pm and take us through to 11pm with Rae Clark\, Gareth Heesom\, Campbell L Sangster\, Rachael Jean Harris\, Mathew McClure\, Shadow Captain\, Katie Nicholas and Thom Morecroft. \nLiverpool and Merseyside are famous throughout the land for supporting worthy causes and social justice\, and We Shall Overcome is an ideal opportunity for us to show what we think of the current shitshow. \nCome on\, let’s do this!

Formed in 2009\, the band are celebrating the 10 year anniversary with a mini tour of the UK. Over the past ten years the band have self penned 6 studio albums and played across the country in a range of venues including theatres\, small intimate venues and festivals. Heavily influenced by the likes of the beautiful South\, Squeeze\, Ocean Colour scene and The Beatles. We take a collection which is divided between the booked acts and hosts\, but there’s absolutely no obligation to make a donation. \nThis event takes place in the performance room at the back of the venue\, and is open to all ages. DESCRIPTION:Liverpool Acoustic returns to the newly refurbished Sound on Duke Street for We Shall Overcome 2016. \nStarted in 2015\, We Shall Overcome is a UK grass roots music community response to the cuts to public services\, and the hardship caused by them. \nFrom 1pm to 5pm there will be a selection of talented musicians performing 25 minute sets\, with the finale brought to you by the Liverpool Acoustic Rhythm Kings (Stuart Todd\, Derek King\, Pete King\, and guests!). \nEntry to Sound is free\, although we’ll be asking for donations (suggested minimum of £3) which will be given to the South Liverpool Foodbank. Please note\, we will not be accepting any food donations.
