Released – 2nd April 2021

Matthew Read makes his debut with the four track EP Little Walks. Inspired by artists Jack Johnson and Jason Mraz, the local singer-songwriter can be seen busking down at New Brighton Promenade. His debut single Handpicked Flowers cracked the top 50 on the iTunes chart and has headlined gigs at 81 Renshaw and Sound Basement.

Recorded at 3rd Planet Studios with producer Jose Ibanez, the set opens with the subdued Where Those Lies Lead; which is a personal reflection on relationships. If All I’ve Got Is You is a celebration of love that provides a melodic hook and punchy sound. The ballad She’s Another One features guest vocalist Jasmin Nash and benefits from the addition of piano, while Bus Ride To Sevilla has a relaxing Mediterranean feel that closes the set on a positive vibe.

The EP has a contemporary sounding production that is highlighted by solid musicianship. Little Walks by Matthew Read has a sunny chilled-out vibe that should easily invite radio play and provide a pleasant listening experience.
