Artist applications for Folk on the Dock 2018 now open

FOLK ON THE DOCK is back for a third year, and once again Liverpool Acoustic will be taking part.

The festival, now a firm favourite on the national music scene, returns to the Royal Albert Dock across the Bank Holiday weekend from Friday 24th to Sunday 27th August 2018.

Dock Stage

The award-nominated festival brings together some of the best folk, acoustic and roots music from across the UK and around the world. Headlining the Dock Stage are Chris Difford, Daoiri Farrell, Robert Vincent, and Tiny Ruins. They’re joined by Winter Wilson, Roxanne de Bastion, Blue Rose Code and more. Local artists include King & Byrne, Two Black Sheep, and A Guy Called Greg.

The Dock Stage will once again be hosted by legendary radio presenter Janice Long.

Liverpool Shanty Festival

Folk on the Dock also sees the return of the Liverpool Shanty Festival spread out across four venues on land and water!

Liverpool Acoustic Stage

For the first time this year Liverpool Acoustic is hosting a stage for the full three days of the festival from Saturday 25th to Monday 27th August 2018.

You can find Liverpool Acoustic in the same location as last year, at the top of the steps to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jnr Building – you know… the one with the big columns… on the corner… opposite The Pumphouse… used to be Granada Television… Yes, that’s the one!

If it’s raining then we’ll move inside, nice and dry!

On Saturday, Sunday and Monday between 1.00pm and 5.30pm we’ll have a full programme of music from some of the best local and national musicians performing folk, Americana, singer-songwriter and roots music – you know, the music we all love.

The stage will be hosted by Graham Holland, Derek King and Stuart Todd.
