The Coral’s Lee Southall to play intimate Liverpool gig this Friday

The double award-winning Liverpool Acoustic Live music night celebrates its 9th birthday by welcoming The Coral’s Lee Southall for an intimate concert this week.

The show takes place this coming Friday 2nd February at 81 Renshaw and features support from local singer songwriter Keith Lally, Manchester’s Andrew Knight, plus the winners of the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge, Lydia Higham and 16 year old Michael Aldag.

Lee Southall brings a wealth of experience to his solo performances. As a founder member of The Coral he has already enjoyed a career that spans seven albums. His solo work hinges on finely crafted songwriting and virtuoso acoustic guitar. Folk, pop, blues and country thread their way through songs that take inspiration from the melodic intricacy of Bert Jansch and Davey Graham, through to the raw sparseness of Karen Dalton and Townes Van Zandt.

His debut solo album Iron In The Fire [“…an album of genuine depth and restrained elegance.” On The Margins] was released April 2017 on Wonderfulsound.

Tickets for this show are currently selling fast. They are £8 in advance from TicketQuarter or on the door on the night if there are any left. The doors open at 7.30pm and the music starts at 8.00pm.

<< UPDATE >>
Lee will be appearing on Jenny Lee Summers‘ show on BBC Radio Merseyside on the afternoon of Thursday 1st February from 2.30pm. You can listen on 95.8FM, DAB, 1485AM, online and via the iPlayer Radio app.

Come along and join Lee, Keith, Andrew, Lydia and Michael as they celebrate Liverpool Acoustic Live’s 9th birthday during Independent Venue Week at one of the best independent venues around.
