Beat the January Blues with Raphael Callaghan and friends this Friday

It’s the day after New Year’s Day, the wheelie bins are overflowing, our waists are wider, heads sorer, pockets lighter, there are pine needles all over the house, and the Christmas Day turkey is just a distant memory. And we still have to face the twin chores of taking the decorations down and dragging ourselves back into work…!

If that’s not enough to give you the January Blues then we don’t know what is.

But fear not, Liverpool Acoustic are here to help you Beat the January Blues with a FREE blues night at 81 Renshaw this coming Friday 5th January 2018.

Headlining is prodigal son Raphael Callaghan, returning to Liverpool for his first full gig in far too long. Raphael’s new album Said And Done was included in BBC Radio Merseyside Folkscene’s Top Ten albums of the year for 2017, and on the night he’ll be performing these new songs alongside many familiar ones from his extensive back catalogue. Raphael will be supported on the night by AL ‘Bluesman’ Peters and Jo Bywater.

To make the night a little easier on the pocket all we’re asking is that you make a donation into the PAY WHAT YOU FEEL bucket on the door. After all, even poor blues men and women have to eat!

Doors open at 7.30pm and the music kicks off at 8.00pm with a short set from Liverpool Acoustic head honcho Graham ‘The Greens’ Holland.

Remember, this is a FREE gig with a PAY WHAT YOU FEEL donation bucket – the perfect way to beat the January Blues!
