Mathew Street’s independent View Two Gallery is closing its doors for the last time this coming Saturday 24th June 2017 and Liverpool Acoustic are inviting you all to the Final Viewing.
17 years ago the View Gallery moved from Gostins Building to Mathew Street, and was reborn as the View Two. Since then this hidden gem at the heart of the Cavern Quarter has played host to art exhibitions, plays, poetry readings, the Above the Beaten Track music festival, the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge, and a multitude of amazing live music nights.
Liverpool Acoustic’s Graham Holland said, “The View Two Gallery has been home to Liverpool Acoustic Live since we started in February 2009, but all good things must come to an end. However, we couldn’t let the place go without inviting all our friends to experience one last climb up three flights of stairs, one more browse of the fantastic artwork, and one final performance on the grand piano!”
The gallery opens at 12.00pm on Saturday 24th June, and between 1.00pm and 5.00pm there will be live music from special guests John Jenkins, David Neville King, Derek King, Three Minute Hero and the Southbound Attic Band. There will also be plenty of open mic places for people to come along and play a couple of songs, and for anyone to share their memories of the View Two from across the years.
The gallery opens for the evening session at 7.30pm, with more open mic and memory-sharing slots, plus special performances from Science of the Lamps as part of their UK tour, and long-time View Two Gallery favourites Rob Jones & Rob White.
Entry to both the afternoon and evening sessions is totally free, so come along and join in the fun at the View Two Gallery for the Final Viewing.

Liverpool Acoustic is the only website of its kind in the UK. It was founded by Graham Holland in April 2008 as a central resource for the vibrant and exciting acoustic music scene in Liverpool and the Greater Merseyside area. The website publishes news from the local acoustic music scene, previews of upcoming events, reviews of music releases and gigs, and the Liverpool Acoustic Spotlight podcast. This content is available for free via email subscription. The diary lists acoustic events including festivals, theatre concerts, folk clubs, showcases and open mic nights.
