Incomparable, virtuoso guitarist Jon Gomm is returning to the road this May after a break from touring for what he refers to as ‘personal stuff’ (congratulations on the new arrival, by the way!).
After selling out the View Two Gallery (twice) and Leaf on Bold Street (twice), Jon brings his national tour to the fabulous Music Room at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Saturday 27th May 2017. Please note, this is a standing gig. Limited seating available in the bar area on a first-come, first-served basis when doors open at 7.00pm.
This time round Jon has decided to throw open the support slots for the gigs to local musicians and performers. He says “I know how hard it is to get on good shows in your own city, because so many are sewn up by national agencies, sometimes on a pay-to-play basis. If you’d like to be considered for a support slot at one of my tour gigs please visit the official Facebook event page for your closest show and post a link to a YouTube video or SoundCloud song along with a contact email address and share with your friends. All acts will be considered regardless of genre or line up – last time we did this, in 2013, we had solo artists, bands, performance poets and comedians and we got to meet some amazing musicians and performers. No criteria – you just need to be local!”
The facebook event for Liverpool on 27th May (and Chester on 2nd May) can be found on Jon’s website at jongomm.com/home/blog/uk-tour-2017 where you’ll also find the terms and conditions for the support slot opportunity.
Tickets for the Music Room show are already selling fast and early purchase is recommended.
To celebrate the announcement of his UK tour, Jon Gomm is launching a brand new video – his own unique interpretation of Radiohead’s High and Dry.
You can watch the video below or by clicking here.
The song is available to buy from jongomm.com/music on a name your price basis, and the full guitar tab is available for super-adventurous guitarists to have a go.

This content is available for free via email subscription. The diary lists acoustic events including festivals, theatre concerts, folk clubs, showcases and open mic nights.
